budget information

The 2008-2009 Budget includes nearly $85 million in expenditures, including $35,274,563 for regular education and $13,810,101 for special education. Transportation costs continue to amount to about 6% of the budget or $5,193,634. Nearly $1 million will be invested in technology upgrades for the district. More than $7 million is earmarked for operations and maintenance projects, including improvements to the high school’s indoor track, cardio room & weight room, additional security cameras and a new sound system in the gym. The middle school will feature a new TV Studio, seminar room, resource room, weight room, additional security cameras and a new sound system in the pool area.

 

The millage rate was increased by 1.79% to 17.47 mills--the first increase in the last three years. The tax impact on the average residence assessed at $205,660 was an additional $63.75 for a total of $3,592.88 annually.
