Communication with our students, parents, staff and community is vitally important to Wissahickon School District. We believe it is essential to share with you the goals and initiatives of our school district, the successes of our students & teachers, and other important school information.
Among our enhanced communications strategies, this summer we revamped our website to make it easier to navigate and to include more “news you can use.” It features a guide to all services, news updates from each school, upcoming events, contact information for the schools and district, lunch menus, student handbook, frequently used forms, school schedules and grades. Visitors may also submit positive news stories via the web or log on to take our monthly quiz, “Are You Smarter than a Wissahickon Student?”
Beginning in September 2008, the District will be distributing “Wissahickon Connections”, a district newsletter highlighting the many changes you will see this school year. Anyone wishing to subscribe to the newsletter may receive it in their personal email inbox or view it on the website.
In addition, there will be a weekly update from the Superintendent’s Office starting in December which can be emailed or read via the website. Breaking news or major announcements will be emailed to all subscribers as well.
Our TV production studio at the Middle School is near completion and by mid-fall, we hope to have students producing Wissahickon news and entertainment programs that will broadcast on cable.
